I Might – Edie Yvonne
Following her soul bearing diaristic storytelling with her last two songs Burn and Epitome, focused on brutal honesty and tough love, I Might is the third in this trilogy of lyrical letter writing, perhaps a gesture of letting go.

Edie Yvonne has become a mainstay on our playlist, and for good reason—her ability to consistently deliver infectious indie pop tracks is simply impressive. From the gritty pop rock edge of “2U” to the introspective quality of “Epitome” to the edgy swagger of “Delusion”, which we previously featured, Yvonne continues to push her artistic boundaries. On her first release of 2025, “I Might”, the LA-based singer-songwriter injects a dark undertone into her evolving sound, crafting an atmospheric soundscape that’s as gripping as it is evocative. “I Might” serves as the final piece in a trilogy of tracks, following “Burn” and “Epitome”, each showcasing Yvonne’s introspective storytelling style. Together, these songs explore the vulnerability of letting go, and “I Might” shines a light on her poignant lyrical style with piercing lines like, “Left my mark in the centre of your eye, now I’m caught in every corner of your mind.” An acoustic guitar and rich bass line ground the track, while Yvonne’s fragile yet commanding vocal delivery steals the spotlight, particularly during her impressive falsetto phrases. The left-right panning of haunting background vocals amplifies the track’s moody essence, with an expansive synth layer and a gritty guitar tone adding a dynamic crunch that balances melody with suspense. If you haven’t yet explored Edie Yvonne’s growing catalogue, “I Might” is the perfect entry point—a bold continuation of her musical journey and proof of her remarkable evolution. My Music Mixtape
Under A Stone – MatAre
The track encapsulates the theme of solitude and acceptance, reflecting MatAre’s personal experience of living apart from loved ones. Atlanta-based indie artist Matthew Rousseau, known by his moniker MatAre, is back with “Under A Stone,” a stunning track that expands on the dreamy brilliance of his impressive catalogue. The multi-instrumentalist builds on his signature atmospheric soundscapes that first caught our attention on “Forever Light”, a soothing serenade featuring a beautiful wash of sounds. Likewise, “Under A Stone” seamlessly weaves together dream pop, shoegaze, new wave, indie rock, and indie pop into something both comfortably familiar and refreshingly unique. Imagine Depeche Mode reimagined for 2025, with touches of Royal Otis’ infectious indie charm and the layered approach of The War on Drugs. The song’s opening guitar riff hooks you instantly, setting the tone for a rich instrumental journey. From shimmering guitar tones to a groove-infused bass line to the intricate hi-hat work, every element shines, complemented by Rousseau’s textured vocals, which blend vocal doubling and harmonies for added depth. The real magic, however, lies in the song’s dynamic structure. A clever midway shift introduces a descending scale that momentarily changes the mood before returning to its feel-good energy—a delightful surprise. It all comes together with impeccable production, led by veteran Gabe Wolf (Kurt Vile, Middle Kids). Beneath its upbeat vibes, “Under A Stone” carries an introspective undertone, exploring themes of detachment and solitude with an emotional resonance that’s impossible to ignore, a testament to Rousseau’s authentic artistry. The result is a memorable sonic experience that leaves us eagerly anticipating his next move—until then, we’ll keep “Under A Stone” close, uncovering new layers with every listen. My Music Mixtape
I Want You I Warn You – Janita
“Sometimes you write a song about something specific and personal, and it winds up being about something larger because of the moment the song finds itself in,” says Janita. “This is a song of a woman telling someone ‘I want you, watch out.’ The song isn’t a threat—in fact, it’s a love song—but it seems now that women simply saying what they want and how they want it is threatening to some. To many, actually.”

New York-based singer-songwriter Janita is back with her new single, “I Want You I Warn You”, a melodic gem that reinforces her unrelenting desire to be untethered by convention. We were first introduced to the multi-instrumentalist through her record-breaking single “Real Deal”—a “masterclass in dynamics” that became ECR Music Group’s most successful single, racking up 250K streams and landing on coveted editorial playlists. Janita builds on this momentum with “I Want You I Warn You” by showcasing a genre-blending style that on one hand resonates with wide appeal, but on the other is quite unique and deeply personal. From the first note, there’s an undeniable sense of mystery woven into the track’s DNA. The arpeggiated guitars in the verses, rich with haunting tones and textures, shape a dark, atmospheric undertone—the perfect backdrop for the song’s warning refrain: “you know what’s coming to you.” Co-produced, recorded, and mixed by Blake Morgan (Lenny Kravitz), the song’s moody production adds depth, while the chorus shines with gritty, 90s-inspired alt-rock guitar work and an infectious vocal line, punctuated by Janita’s signature falsetto and a hypnotic vocal bend. It’s also impossible to ignore the song’s deeper resonance. There’s a dark femme fatale type of energy here—reminiscent of classic film noir, but modernized as a statement on female power and independence in a world that often resists. A former teen star in Finland turned Billboard-charting artist in the U.S., Janita has built a career on forging her own path, and “I Want You I Warn You” is a testament to that relentless spirit. With her new album, Mad Equation, on the horizon, this single offers yet another glimpse into what promises to be an outstanding record. My Music Mixtape
People – Blofeld Sands
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Bill Hicks phrase ‘Love All The People,’ the track delivers a powerful message of unity in the face of growing global division.

Indie rock band Blofeld Sands are bursting onto the scene with their debut single, “People”, an instant earworm that’s as poignant as it is irresistible. With swirling guitars, a steady pulse, and a hypnotizing vocal line repeating the mantra “a loving people,” the track feels like a modern hymn for unity. It’s the kind of song that sticks with you long after it ends, blending emotional introspection with an upbeat tempo that keeps your head nodding and your heart pumping. The atmospheric soundscape is captivating and immersive, with a dreamy quality as if to mimic the dream of a better world. The bridge delivers an emotional gut-punch, pausing the rhythm just enough to spotlight the line “I love you more than you hate yourself”—a clever lyrical and structural addition by the UK-based outfit. As the world grapples with multiple conflicts, polarized political environments and climate chaos, “People” feels like a much-needed call for compassion, making it as timely as it is timeless. Already hailed by Radio X as “an instant banger,” we wholeheartedly agree: “People” is an outstanding debut that will instantly put this band on the map—and you’ll want to come along for the ride. Indie rock band Dreaming of Citra has delivered a knockout single with “Bitter”, a bright, sun-soaked anthem dripping with swagger through every note. The UK-based outfit’s signature blend of catchy pop rock energy and introspective lyricism shapes an irresistible vibe that will have you hooked from the very first listen. Anchored by a standout guitar riff—easily one of the best licks we’ve heard in a long time—”Bitter” demands attention with its impressive guitar work, stealing the show through masterful layering of tones. Shimmering and gritty tones create a rich, textured soundscape, all underpinned by a subtle acoustic strum that adds depth. Paired with an infectious vocal melody and a soaring chorus, the result is a track that feels vibrant and refreshing. A dynamic bridge offers a moment of reflection, pulling listeners in before building into an electrifying release, a masterclass in tension and payoff that will leave you with goosebumps. The track’s upbeat instrumental is balanced with its emotionally-charged lyrics, right from the opening line of the song: “You’re the lemon in my gin and tonic”—a clever metaphor that not only evokes the song’s sunny vibe, but immediately highlights the dissatisfaction in a relationship. It gets even more pointed with “I don’t like the taste”, highlighting the band’s ability to craft songs with purpose and punch. “Bitter” is the perfect antidote to winter blues, carrying enough summer energy to brighten even the darkest days. Simply put, we’re obsessed—and eagerly anticipating what’s next for this promising 5-piece band. My Music Mixtape
